Couple Kidnapped and Assaulted While House Hunting in Connecticut
A couple in their 50s experienced a terrifying ordeal this weekend while house hunting in Danbury, Connecticut, when they were kidnapped and assaulted, according to police reports.
The incident unfolded on Sunday afternoon when a group of six men, all from Florida, intentionally crashed their vehicle into the couple’s Lamborghini sports car. They then forcibly removed the couple from their car and bundled them into the back of a van.
The assailants reportedly assaulted the couple with a baseball bat, bound their hands and feet with duct tape, and covered the male victim’s eyes. Meanwhile, some members of the group drove off in the Lamborghini, while others attempted to flee with the victims in the van.
Sgt. Steven Castrovinci described the scene, stating, “It appears they were hit with a bat. The male victim suffered considerable bruising and swelling, indicating he had been struck multiple times.”
A vigilant witness saw the incident unfold and promptly notified law enforcement, following the van until it lost control and crashed.
The couple was taken to the hospital for treatment and is currently recovering from their injuries, which were reported to be non-life-threatening.
All six suspects now face serious charges, including first-degree assault, first-degree kidnapping, and reckless endangerment. The motive behind the attack remains unknown, and authorities have yet to establish any connection between the victims and their assailants.
